FORT LAUDERDALE, Fla. - Nationally renowned civil rights attorneys Sue-Ann Robinson of Frontline Law and Ben Crump of Ben Crump Law have sent a letter to President Joe Biden and Secretary of State Anthony J. Blinken, demanding immediate diplomatic intervention by The White House and the U.S. Department of State to prioritize bringing those accountable for Shanquella Robinson’s death to justice.
Shanquella Robinson was pronounced dead on October 29th, 2022 while vacationing in Mexico. According to Mexican prosecutors, one of Robinson’s travel mates was the direct aggressor in her death. Initially, travel mates of Shanquella claimed that her cause of death was alcohol poisoning, but an autopsy revealed that it was “severe spinal cord injury and atlas luxation”
Attorney Sue-Ann Robinson recently returned from a fact-finding mission in Mexico on behalf of Shanquella’s family and met with Mexican Authorities.
Attorneys Sue-Ann Robinson and Ben Crump held a press conference in DC with Shanquella's family and activists to demand that President Biden intervene; this letter is a follow-up to that demand. “We don’t want to leave room for the administration to say they didn’t know how to help. The President or the Secretary of State must step in and ask: for the extradition of the suspect or suspects or concurrent jurisdiction and file charges in the United States," says Attorney Robinson.
In the letter addressed to President Biden and Secretary Blinken, Attorneys Sue-Ann Robinson, and Ben Crump highlight the importance of justice and the rule of law, especially in cases involving the murder of U.S. Citizens abroad. It goes on to outline some of the details of the investigation conducted by Mexican authorities including autopsy, field reports, and witness statements. ##
