FORT LAUDERDALE, Fla. - During the March 16th press briefing White House Press Secretary Karine Jean-Pierre was presented with a question by "The Grio" White House Correspondent April Ryan about the Shanquella Robinson case and subsequent letter sent to the administration by the Attorneys of the family in which Press Secretary Jean-Pierre responded "Our hearts go out to Ms. Robinson’s family and friends. It’s devastating what occurred. It’s a tragedy. We’ve been following the news. Because there’s an FBI investigation, there’s very little about what we can say." When asked follow-up questions those questions were referred to the State Department, FBI, and the Department of Justice. This is the first official response from The White House in regard to Shanquella Robinson's case and also the first response since the letters demanding "immediate diplomatic intervention" by The White House and the U.S. Department of State were received from the administration two days prior. “We appreciate the condolences from White House Press Secretary Jean-Pierre. We would appreciate swift action in Shanquella Robinson’s case even more. We hope the Intervention that is needed is the next step.” says Robinson family Attorney Sue-Ann Robinson.
Shanquella Robinson was pronounced dead on October 29th, 2022 while vacationing in Mexico. According to Mexican prosecutors, one of Robinson’s travel mates was the direct aggressor in her death. Initially, travel mates of Shanquella claimed that her cause of death was alcohol poisoning, but an autopsy revealed that it was “severe spinal cord injury and atlas luxation” ##
